This project consists of 6,400 LF of 24-inch and 30-inch diameter cement mortar lined and coated steel pipe constructed in an existing major arterial roadway. DBE services included aerial mapping, geotechnical investigation, and preparation of an alignment study, Preliminary Design Report, final design construction documents and construction phase engineering services. Major project constraints included 10-inch and 16-inch fuel lines and a 30-inch high pressure gas main within the alignment window and heavy traffic loadings, all of which influenced the alignment selection and pipeline design. |

DBE provided aerial topography, utility potholing, permit processing, alignment study, final design, construction documents, traffic control plans and construction phase services for this 4,500 LF pipeline. The pipeline consisted of 24-inch diameter cement mortar-lined and coated welded steel pipe located in congested city streets and within the District’s reservoir site. Construction also included a jack and bore crossing of a double box culvert storm drain and installation of a 36-inch v-cone flow meter and valves within an existing flow control facility. |

This transmission main consisted of 6,400 LF of 21-inch and 27-inch diameter mortar-lined, tape-wrapped, and mortar-coated steel pipe and a 12-inch diameter flow control facility at the point of connection. Project challenges included a fast-track design schedule, conflicts with other large diameter pipelines, crossings of environmentally sensitive areas and coordination with adjacent Developer-driven projects. DBE provided complete planning and design services for this project. |

This project is located within the travel lanes of Pacific Coast Highway in downtown Long Beach, including within the historically famous “Traffic Circle”. The project consisted of 9,100 LF of 12-inch diameter PVC pipe; replacement of all services, valves and fire hydraunts; and reconfiguration of intersecting pipeline connections. The project required traffic control plans and close coordination and permitting with Caltrans. DBE provided all engineering services from field survey and alignment selection through engineering support during construction. |
