These two (2) pressure control structures control pressure and flow between 3 and 30 CFS and 2 and 20 CFS respectively. DBE provided comprehensive services from feasibility studies, site mapping, and geotechnical investigations to final design, bidding and construction. The major project challenge consisted of coordinating with and obtaining approvals from MWD, SDCWA and Fallbrook Public Utilities District. Facilities were located within structural concrete buildings and included full controls, instrumentation and telemetry. |

Reconstruction of this 25-year old station and 40-year old steel pipeline entailed the replacement of all major piping, valves and equipment, the addition of flow meters, and upgrading of controls, instrumentation and telemetry. A Preliminary Design Report was prepared to compare alternatives of expanding the existing vault, construction of a new vault, construction of above grade alternatives and a hybrid above/below grade configuration. During final design, additional information provided by the client led to major changes in the final configuration. |

These two (2) new stations were part of the Capital Improvement Projects for the Ladera Ranch development. Project constraints included all above grade construction (no confined space entry), coordination with Developer for a “out-of-the-way” site, architectural review by Developer and emergency pumping bypass with portable pump connections. |
