This 1.2 MG buried circular pre-stressed concrete tank received the 2002 Concrete Structures award from the San Diego International Chapter of ACI (American Concrete Institute). The facility is located within a rural hillside residential setting of expensive homes and protected open space habitat. In addition to design and construction services, DBE was responsible for conducting alternative site studies, locating the site, identifying owners, preparing EIR support documents and assisting with site acquisition. Habitat preservation, site aesthetics, construction access and construction storage and lay-down areas were important design constraints. |

This 10 MG circular pre-stressed concrete reclaimed water reservoir is partially buried to preserve the existing area habitat and aesthetic qualities. Four (4) alternative sites were evaluated for impact to coastal sage scrub, gnatcatcher & cactus wren. The scope of services included public relations, meetings with homeowners associations, viewshed analysis, graphic exhibits, presentations and coordination with the Irvine Company and County of Orange. DBE was responsible for all planning, design and construction support services. |
