This project involved extension of the LBWD recycled water system and conversion of existing irrigation services from potable water to recycled water at four City parks. The project included construction of 6,200 feet of 6-inch and 4-inch pipelines in city streets and parks, numerous irrigation service connections, pressure reducing facilities and separation of potable and recycled water service lines. DBE was responsible for preparation of a preliminary design memorandum and economic analysis, CDHS engineer’s reports, construction plans, technical specifications, site survey and traffic control plans. |

In conjunction with design of the City's recycled water distribution system, Daniel Boyle Engineering was responsible for a complete aerial survey of Kit Carson Regional Park, preparation of conceptual alignment studies through the park, and close coordination with City of Escondido Parks and Recreation. Areas of high use, sensitive habitat, future improvement and other constraints were identified. A pipeline alignment and design was prepared including points of connection for retrofitting of irrigation systems and mitigation measures to protect sensitive habitat and avoid areas of significant landscaping. |

DBE performed a detailed evaluation of four users, which included analysis of alternatives, preliminary retrofit drawings, cost estimates and pre-design report. Existing systems considered for retrofitting included irrigation systems, exterior fire system and interior fire sprinkler system. Services also included coordination with building owners and occupants, identification of potable water system and identification of potential cross connections. |
